The "big" day started with a humble breakfast provided in the Teacher's Hostel. It was a traditional Taiwanese breakfast. We were then transported to the university and prepare for the actual contest.

We woke up in the morning, went up for a breakfast at Yoshinoya (a Japanese bento restaurant) near the hostel and returned. The ICPC committee picked us up at around noon and we headed to the National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU) by a bus, which took around 15minutes. We met Jojo, our guide, who is a student in NTNU from Malaysia (she speaks Mandarin Chinese, Malay, and some English) studying fine arts.

The second day started with a breakfast in a MOS Burger branch near the hostel (seems that there are many MOS Burger branches in Taipei). Looking for the MRT station, we realized that our hostel was actually located near the Chiang Kai-Shek (CKS) memorial hall, which is just about 5-10 minutes walk away.

We gather at the airport in the morning (as usual), checked in for a Cathay Pacific flight to Taipei with a transit in Hong Kong. I was actually looking to use the airport lounge facility provided by my Mastercard Platinum card from Standard Chartered, but there is no lounge in the Terminal 2-D showing the sign for Standard Chartered (well, in their website they say it should be available). Therefore we proceed to the normal waiting hall.

As usual, the annual ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) started with regional contests in the period of September until December. This year, I got the chance to represent BINUS UNIVERSITY again for the ACM ICPC. However, since Felix Halim and Andoko Chandra, my former teammates for the ACM ICPC, have already graduated, we have to form a new team. This time, our team is named "YoiMon" which consists of myself, Timotius Sakti and Kenny Hartono (final year students in BINUS UNIVERSITY). Taipei site is the first one of two regional sites that we attend this year (the second one is Singapore site). For this site, our team will be accompanied by Ms. Henny Surya Ningsih as coach (and translator :D ).
